Bismarck’s Top Dog Photo Contest is a contest that brings awareness and fundraising to a local animal rescue. This contest also gives dog parents a chance to create quality portraits of their fur babies while supporting a great cause. Some amazing local businesses come together to sponsor the calendars and help support our chosen rescue, Coal Country Animal Rescue.
To participate, schedule a photo session for your dog with ADP by July 30th.
A popular vote will be held on Facebook from Aug 3rd – Aug 12th, where pet owners can share their dogs photo and allow their friends to vote. The top 10 dogs from the popular vote will be our models for the 2026 calendar along with 2 dogs chosen by KT animal Supply. 100% of the calendar sales will be donated to Coal Country Animal Rescue.

Coal Country Animal Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster-based animal rescue serving Mercer County and surrounding areas in North Dakota. Their mission is centered around rescuing animals in need, protecting those who cannot protect themselves, and finding safe, loving homes that fit each animal’s individual needs. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, they operate entirely through dedicated volunteers and foster homes rather than a public shelter building. Coal Country Animal Rescue provides veterinary care, rehabilitation, adoption services, and community support programs while working tirelessly to give abandoned, neglected, and unwanted animals a second chance at life.

Contest Rules

One winning photo per household.
We can enter multiple dogs as a pair or group, but they must be in one photo together. -
Dogs must be friendly.
Dogs must be friendly and comfortable being around people for a safe and smooth photo session. -
Must schedule session by July 30th to be entered.
If you don’t schedule your photo session with ADP by July 30th, then we won’t have a photo to enter into this years contest. -
No “get likes” pages allowed.
Sharing your entry on pages or groups designed only to rack up likes will lead to disqualification.
You can share with local pages, groups, friends, and family. -
No repeat dog winners.
Dogs that have previously won cannot be entered again.
However, previous winners may enter a different dog.
